An Experiment
This part of the project was an experiment that arose during research for this project. These videos emerged through decisions of how time is managed in films and how things are revealed to the audience in a particular way when they are viewed on a screen. Studying this relationship between the still and moving image while working on my photo books for this project, I began noticing the different ways of how these images can be viewed.
I then translated these images back onto the scene which was where they were originally meant to be viewed and experienced. I created these short videos and experimented this contrast between reading the images and then inserting them back on the screen. By using the Circle Close, Swipe Left, Cross Dissolve and Fate to Black transitions , they brought these videos to life. I was able to accomplish this by adapting my knowledge of Alfred Hitchcock's works and how he composes narrative.
